THere was a moment when I realized I had outgrown my capacity as an owner.
I had a team that was helping to maintain daily operations, but was so steeped in it with them that I could not train for growth. My office team became “Home Care Firefighters“, running around and putting out little fires all day long.
I was stalled.
My home care agency was stalled.
Not because there was no potential for growth – just the opposite. I was stalled because I was operating at maximum capacity and I simply did not have the ability to go past that.
What I had understood of operating a home care agency had taken me down the path to a certain place, then suddenly the road just seemed to stop!
There was no fork in the road where I had to decide a direction. There was no sudden need for a ‘turnaround’ of my business model… it just… stalled.
If you are that owner today, I want to let you know you are not alone.

EXPANDING CAPACITY
I’d like to give you three actionable steps to start the process of creating an agency by your design. To work toward replacing your presence with your influence and having the impact you are meant to have.
- STEP 1: Evaluate the departments within your agency and work toward establishing scalable, repeatable processes that are not dependent on the owner or a single 'unicorn' employee.
- STEP 2: Don't focus on Revenue. Instead, focus on establishing a strong Profit Structure within your business. This, along with the systems and processes you create, will promote growth naturally. Remember: Growth is a team's responsibility and SCALE is the owner's responsibility.
- STEP 3: Work diligently and intentionally on replacing your presence with your influence. Invest in expanding your capacity and mindset. Engage, enroll, and equip your staff with systems and well-structured processes able to support both growth and scaling.
